My Dad, My hero!

My Dad joined our home-town, volunteer, Fire-department.
At that time I had no idea at all about the extreme dangers that came with this new & exciting job!
All I know is I told everyone & I mean everyone that my Daddy was now going to be a Fire-fighter :)
I was so very proud of him
(& still am!)

I can't even understand How my dad & his fire-fighter "brothers" can even remotely have the guts to run into a burning building & completely risk their entire lives on a regular basis?!
Like seriously! (Stressful much?)
Would you want to run into a burning building or rush to a car wreck at 5am to see a bunch of gory stuff right before you eat breakfast?
I think not!

I am so very grateful that Daddy keeps all of that stuff to himself so that we don't have to hear about the dangerous conditions he faces at every call...
Thank the Lord for Angels of protection around our Daddy!!

Here is something that will bring you to tears...
Well at least it does for me.

A Fireman’s Prayer:
When I am called to duty, God
whenever flames may rage,
Give me the strength to save some life, Whatever be its age.
Help me to embrace a little child
Before it’s too late,
Or some older person
from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert
And hear the weakest shout,
And quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling
and give the best in me,
To guard my neighbor
And protect his property.
And if according to Your will
I have to lose my life,
Please bless with Your protecting hand My children and my wife.

Thank you to my Dad & fellow Fire-fighters for risking your lives for the safety of our communities, thank you for being so passionate about your job that you would be willing to give your life to save a stranger.
Thank you for always protecting us!

I am Praying for the Lords hand of protection & His guidance over each & everyone of you today!!
I also pray for the wives & children of all fire-fighters...I pray your sweet peace Jesus would flood their hearts! Just like John 14:27 says:
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."

I am so proud of my Daddy & always will be :)
